Being from Idar-Oberstein, the Stephan family has a strong affiliation to the mining of gems, which started in our home town more than 600 years ago. Our family run business is currently evolving from a “simple” high-end gem cutting facility into a gem powerhouse that accompanies the client along the entire value chain. As of today, we are buying more than 90% of our gems from trustworthy, documented sources, preferably directly at the mine or with local middlemen. Although total traceability is difficult, we believe disclosure builds trust. As the industry shifts towards ethical sourcing, we’re proud to share where our gems are coming from and create sustainable products from the mine to the end consumer.

Besides the focus on traceability of our raw materials, we continue to invest in our people and the latest equipment to add value to the rare minerals that we bring to our factory in Germany. It is our greatest pleasure to work with different nationalities all over this planet to provide the colors of the world.
