The name Idar-Oberstein is inextricably linked with agate and the art of gemstone cutting. Since the 14th century, our region has evolved into a center of gemstone processing thanks to its rich natural deposits.

We offer our customers an exclusive selection of agates, gemstones, and semi-precious stones – both as raw materials and in custom-processed forms. Our warehouses stock around 200 different materials, including mother-of-pearl, lapis lazuli, malachite, tiger’s eye, turquoise, amethyst, and many other natural treasures.

In addition to natural gemstones, synthetic stones also play an important role in our range. The Verneuil process, developed over 120 years ago by Auguste Victor Louis Verneuil, enables the production of artificial rubies and corundum with the same chemical and physical properties as their natural counterparts. Thanks to continuous research, we now offer over 40 different synthetic variations.

Another highlight of our collection are our doublets and triplets – composite gemstones made of two or three layers. By combining various natural stones such as rock crystal and mother-of-pearl, we create unique color and design variations. Our high-quality
cuts and brilliant finishes make these stones especially captivating.
